James Bennett
Section Chief for the Source Water and UIC Section
United States Environmental Protection Agency
Jim Bennett currently serves as the Section Chief for the Source Water and UIC Section. Jim joined EPA in 2002 in the Underground Control Program. He worked for 19 years in the program taking over as the Regional Lead for UIC permitting and eventually the Section Chief for the UIC program. He’s a member of the Regional Response & Water Support Teams & has responded to several environmental emergencies. Prior to joining EPA, Jim worked for the Delaware Department of Natural Resources in several capacities under the Water programs, including Acting Manager of the Ground Water Discharges Section. He earned a B.S. in Environmental Science/Engineering, a Minor in Geology from University of Delaware, and a Master’s in Environmental Policy from University of Denver.
