Mark Peavy is the Vice President of Operations for Windy Cove Energy II LLC, a private equity start-up, backed by Yorktown, focused on the horizontal San Andres play, Permian Basin. He was a co-founder of Windy Cove I and II, which began in 2015. Prior engagements were as Chief Operating Officer, Enhanced Oil Resources Inc., Subsurface Engineering Manager for Kinder Morgan CO2 company, and various management/engineering positions within Anadarko/Kerr McGee and predecessor organizations where he completed a 26-year career. In addition to these assignments, Mark has managed land assets located in Southeastern Ohio held by a privately held family 'C' corporation.
He has been involved in the design and implementation of numerous new technologies in oil and gas field developments located primarily within onshore and offshore United States. His experience has varied from onshore shallow stripper wells to offshore deep water projects. He has been involved in the drilling, completion, and workover of over 1000 wells that utilized various technologies such as horizontal drilling, perforating, gravel packing, acidizing, hydraulic fracturing, artificial lift, water conformance and disposal, field facilities and operations.
Mark received an MBA from the Jesse H. Jones Graduate School of Management, Rice University in 2008. Prior degrees received were a Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Engineering and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing from the University of Texas at Austin. He is a Registered Professional Engineer in the State of Texas and has authored numerous technical papers and has given presentations involving technology implementation within field developments. He has been an active member in the Society of Petroleum Engineers having served as the Chairman of the Dallas section and Gulf Coast section in 2001 and 2010, respectively.
